The issue of at-large cats and their impacts in Hawaii is complex and controversial.  Our work is to provide information

Toxoplasmosis

This disease caused by a protoza is misunderstood by many.  It only persists in Hawaii because of the presence of cats and threats many of our rarest native birds and mammals. For more information click here.

Predation

At-large cats, even when fed, prey upon native birds across the main Hawaiian Islands. Many of these species are on the brink of extinction.  To find our more on the impacts of cat predation on Hawaii's native birds click here.

A Brief History of a Complex Issue.

In this section I was thinking we could have a little bit of the history of what if any trends we have in feral cat numbers, relevant legislation, or other things we are interested in sharing.  We could also put in a dictionary of our language...what are at-large cats, what is trap neuter reabandonment etc.
